Translation and Language Revitalisation: Global Kurdish Literature
We are pleased to invite you to join our next panel discussion entitled Translation and Language Revitalisation: Global Kurdish Literature, a conversation with scholars and translators of Kurdish literature into Polish, Italian, French, and English.
The panel, chaired by Professor Michelle Bolduc, Professor of Translation Studies, will discuss:
1- What effect does the market have on the publication of translations?
2- How does translation revitalise such a minority language as Kurdish, and its literature?
As part of our discussion on the second theme, we will translate a paragraph from Mehmet Dîcle's Havîna Evînê (see th eword file attachted). You are welcome to join this experiment and the debate by translating the text into your language of choice.
