Dr Artur Rodziewicz

Artur Rodziewicz graduated from the University of Warsaw (Institute of Philosophy and Institute of Ethnology and Cultural Anthropology). He also studied Classical Greek at the Institute of Classical Studies as well as Arabic and Persian at the Faculty of Oriental Institute at the same University. In 2012 he received a scholarship from Imam Khomeini International University in Qazvin where he continued Persian language classes. His scientific interests concern Greek metaphysics and political philosophy, esp. the Greek traces among the Middle-Eastern mystical and theocratic ideas, hence his interest in Sufism and especially Yezidism. Rodziewicz conducts his field research devoted to the Yezidis in Iraqi Kurdistan, Turkey, Armenia and Georgia. In 2015 he became a member of the Yezidi Theological Academy in Tbilisi. In 2016 he received a post-doctoral internship from a Polish National Science Center and he is currently working on the Yezidi cosmogony at the Institute of Oriental Studies of Jagiellonian University. His photographs of the Yezidi religious cult were shown at photo exhibitions presented by the Regional Public Library in Krakow and the Asia and Pacific Museum in Warsaw.
