Dr hab. Joanna Bocheńska

Dr hab. Joanna Bocheńska, Principal Investigator, is the adjunct professor at the Institute of Oriental Studies (Department of Iranian Studies) at the Jagiellonian University, Poland, and director of the Section of Kurdish Studies. From 2013 to 2018, she headed the project, How to make a voice audible? Continuity and change of Kurdish culture and social reality in postcolonial perspectives. Its main result, the book entitled Rediscovering Kurdistan’s Cultures and Identities: The Call of The Cricket has been published in 2018. Her main interests include ethics, heritage, Kurdish classical and modern literature, Middle Eastern cinema and art. She is also a photographer, see the photo gallery.
